Agassiz Chiropractor | Dr. Sam Buttar
A groin injury during hockey practice at the age of 12 forced Dr. Buttar to seek medical help. He thought his Dad would be taking him to a physiotherapist, but instead brought him to a chiropractor. This chiropractor didn’t do any adjustments, but rather ultrasound, active release technique and rehab exercises. At this moment he realized that he could do everything that a physiotherapist could do, but more.
Chiropractic Education
Dr. Buttar completed his studies at the University of the Fraser Valley with a degree in Kinesiology. He spent 3 seasons with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds hockey team in the Major Midget League. He also coached Grade 6 and 7 basketball for 3 years while in highschool and coached Grade 8 and 9/10 for 2 years while studying at UFV.
After obtaining his degree he worked as a Kinesiologist and personal trainer for 7 months before heading off to Palmer West in San Jose, California. Dr. Buttar graduated in 2019 and has practiced in Surrey, Abbotsford, and Agassiz.
Dr. Buttar practices using a diversified technique including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization and exercises to further help patients reach their goals. He believes that chiropractic care is a supplement to improving your health and can benefit a great majority of people, whether your an athlete trying to get to the next level, or you’re a grandparent that wants to be able to play with the grandkids.
On a Personal Note
Dr. Buttar currently spends his free time weight lifting, playing hockey, golf, and basketball. When he’s not doing something sports related, he likes to binge watch TV shows.
